Did Democrats Give In or Compromise to End the Shutdown?
After a long dispute, enough Democrats agreed to reopen the federal government without extending the subsidies for Obamacare. Despite criticism, they gave in due to their limited influence as a minority and the pressure to mitigate the effects of the shutdown.
