New Economic Security Doctrine for Brussels
The European Commission presents a new economic security strategy, prioritizing the reduction of strategic dependencies, attracting safe investments, strengthening the defence industry and protecting critical infrastructure. This responds to international challenges such as conflicts in Ukraine, tensions with Russia and China, and changes in the foreign policy of the United States. It seeks greater coordination of existing instruments and new initiatives to promote economic security in Europe. Successful implementation requires conceptual clarity, risk assessment and administrative simplification.
