Since Trump’s inauguration, the federalist struggle has intensified between red and blue states, clashing over issues such as abortion, redistricting, voting rights, vaccines, and immigration. The autonomy of conservative and liberal states is being challenged. Conflicts over undocumented immigrants and the militarization of police have generated tensions between Democratic states and cities.
