Chile: The Left Seeks to Outdo the Center-Right in the Second Round.
Chile prepares for a runoff between Jeanette Jara and José Antonio Kast, with the latter leading a right-wing movement. Kast, with 23.9% of the votes, adds support from other right-wing factions and is the favourite. Jara must attract moderate voters to avoid an ultraconservative shift and counter the antidemocratic risk of Kast.
