Global Malaria Response: Evolving Strategies
The global response to malaria is crumbling. Only $4 billion of $8.3 billion in funding for its control was reached in 2023. US budget cuts for 2026 threaten to reverse two decades of progress. In 2023, there were 263 million cases and 597,000 deaths. The US presidential initiative could prevent 15 million cases and 107,000 deaths in 2025.
