States like Alabama, Florida, and Louisiana offer incentives to strengthen homes against climate damage. Programs such as Strengthen Alabama Homes, My Safe Florida Home and Fortify Homes Program provide subsidies and loans to improve roofs and meet the FORTIFIED HomeTM standard. Fortified homes suffer less damage, have higher resale value and help reduce damage and costs from climate events.
